I just watched this awesome independent film from New Zealand and was totally charmed by the offbeat romance between loser Jarrod (Jemaine Clement - one half of the comedy duo Flight of the Concordes) and the charming Lily (Loren Horsely). I could only be so lucky as to find someone like Lily who has the ability to look beyond what the world sees to love the man within - especially when he has so many character faults. Jarod has no clue whatsoever about what is happening around him as his quest for vengeance causes him to ignore the one good thing in his life. You wait for the light to go on in his head. I like the way he doesn't betray his character by making thing easy for anyone around him. I defy anyone not to fall in love with Lily especially when her mouth does that little crinkly thing and she looks at you with those big wide eyes. Definately an unconventional comedy but the quirks are balance by a charm that wins you over.
